In this month’s Ask Me Anything episode, Logan Engle and recurring guest Matt Houston share an honest, unscripted conversation about grief, loss, and continuing to lead their families well through hard seasons. Logan opens up about losing his mom and navigating the early waves of grief, while Matt offers perspective from his own journey of loss years earlier. Together, they reflect on how grief affects emotions, habits, and decision-making, why vulnerability matters for fathers, and how to give yourself grace without staying stuck. The conversation closes on a lighter note with reflections on Christmas traditions, meaningful gifts, and what it looks like to stay present with your family during the holidays, reminding listeners that even in difficult seasons, they don’t have to walk alone.

In this Rooted in Faith episode, we’re opening up Philippians 4 and exploring how to help our kids turn Scripture into real life action.
I walk through the SOAP method, Scripture, Observation, Application, and Prayer, and share how I use it with my daughters to help them navigate anxiety, school pressure, unkind friendships, and overwhelming thoughts through God’s Word. We take a closer look at verses like Philippians 4:6–7 and 4:8, and what it means to replace worry with prayer and fix our minds on what is true.
This episode is an invitation to slow down, disciple your kids with intention, and lead your family with a faith that’s practiced daily. My prayer is that this conversation equips you to guide your children toward peace, confidence, and a deeper trust in Christ.

This week’s episode is a little different. A few days before recording, my mom went home to be with Jesus, and it has been one of the hardest things I have ever walked through. She was my biggest supporter, my steady encourager, and the person who taught me what it means to love without limits.
In this reflection, I share three lessons my mom passed down to me that shaped the man, husband, and father I am today. We talk about loving people with your whole heart, choosing kindness even when life feels heavy, and finding joy in the moments that do not make sense. My hope is that her legacy encourages you to slow down, cherish your people, and lead your home with compassion and purpose.
If you have experienced loss or are walking through grief, you are not alone. I pray this episode brings comfort, connection, and a reminder of the hope we have in Christ.

In this Rooted in Faith episode, we’re walking through Matthew 14 — the moment Jesus meets the disciples in the middle of the storm and invites Peter to step out onto the water. It’s a powerful reminder that faith isn’t proven when the seas are calm but when the waves feel overwhelming.
I’ll share some of the storms my family has been navigating lately — caring for my parents, juggling work and fatherhood, even a late-night moment driving Uber — and how each one has pushed me to fix my eyes on Jesus instead of the wind.
This episode is an invitation to examine where you’re placing your focus, what’s pulling your attention off Christ, and how Jesus responds the moment you begin to sink. If you’ve been struggling with fear, exhaustion, or spiritual amnesia, this message will encourage you to invite Jesus back into the boat and trust Him with the waves.
